A song that no one would expect me to love
Con te partirò (Time To Say Goodbye) by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman.
While most of the music I listen to would fall under the various sub-categories of rock, acoustic or funk I also enjoy music from other less pervasive genres. Con te partirò (more commonly known as Time to Say Goodbye outside of Italy) would fall into one of those categories. Opera is a bit hit and miss for me, but this song is something special. The music builds so amazingly, and the voices of Bocelli and Brightman are simply mind blowing! Its really hard not to listen and be impressed by this song!
You have probably heard this song before as its one of those songs that is often used in films. I had heard this song in this way many times but never really appreciated it for what it was. My first time I genuinely listened to the song was with my former housemate Andy. When we lived together we would often share our music with one another one of the ways we did this was searching youtube. One afternoon after we had both finished for the day we were searching a few songs when Andy remembered this song. We found it and played it three or four times over, listening in awe as the singers mighty voices boomed. Since then I have been able to appreciate this song for how amazing it really is.
